Nightlife in Venice

You have a lot of options because you can find from traditional concerts to modern dance clubs.

Venice has a big tradition of classical music because of that there is often a concert somewhere in the city. Most churches offer concerts of classical music with international and local artist. Tickets for these events are mainly sold in the box office of the church.

Concerts in Venice Comparatively speaking, Venice is a quiet town because of its early evening. But if you want something else, most of the nightlife is centered in the bars and cafes near the Piazza San Marco with low prices on drinks. One of the most famous places is located on the south of the piazza, its name is Café Florian and it’s said that Casanova stopped here for a coffee when he fled from the prison in the Doge’s Palace.

Discos and Clubs in Venice

The lack of decent nightlife is a characteristic of Venice, but there are some late bars around the city. They are located along the Fondamenta della Misericordia, in Cannaregio where bars like Iguana, Le Notti d'Oriente and Paradiso Perduto stay open late and occasionally have live music or DJ´s.

Casanova in Venice If you want to get down, you have only one choice that is Casanova. This is a huge, old fashioned disco-club that would be half-empty in most cities, but in Venice this place is busy from Thursday to Saturday having salsa, classic dance, house, student/indie and today´s music. The action of this clubs begins at 2am.

Every Friday and Saturday night Jesolo, located in the northern reaching the lagoon, turns into a rave club. If you want to go there, that will not be a problem to go there, but the problem is that there’s no way to get back except by getting a ride with someone.
