Palermo Weather

Fall term
The hottest months in Sicily are August and September, so be prepared for very warm weather at start of the term. Temperatures can be in the high nineties accompanied by some humidity. Towards the end of the term it will get cool and windy so pack some heavy clothes; socks, sweaters and a coat.
Spring term
During this term, you will experience both warm and cold weather. Most of the rain falls from October until the end of April, and even when the days are sunny and pleasant; it can get quite cold in the evenings, Ortigia being on the sea. January and February are cold and the best months for skiing Mount Etna.
Summer term
Expect the summer to be HOT. Keep in mind, however, that in early summer the evenings can be cool, and bring some jeans and a light jacket.
Mild winters
The degree of temperature in Palermo is on 10°C, making it a very pleasant place to visit all year round. July and August are usually hot and very dry, so it is worth considering a visit outside of these peak summer months. Perhaps the best time to visit Palermo is from May to June, when the weather is warm enough for relaxing on the beach, but will still leave you with plenty of energy to explore the sights.
