Painting & Sculpture: The Florentine Renaissance


The Florentine Renaissance is considered as one of the top Periods in which Italy had more production and further development in Arts.

Florence is one of the most important cities in Italy, in which Renaissance first took place not only in art but in other aspects of Florence life, construction, philosophy, economy and science.

Some of the most famous characters in Florence are Michelangelo and Botticelli who studied sculpture and painting in Florence; they were friends with Leonardo da Vinci, another great renaissance representative.

Sculpture in Florentine renaissance was characterized by the detailed and careful representation of human body which was generally presented as a nude, while painting in Renaissance used classical themes, using symmetrical proportions and giving light and motion to the images.
